Happy Friday Everyone! I’m sure that everyone is just as excited for the weekend as I am!
As many of you know I am happy to have more time back in my schedule lately so I can start running again more regularly.
Although I didn’t choose to start running because I really wanted to change my body or become more physically fit, I was thinking recently about the changes I have noticed since I began running. I started running about a year ago now, and I am happy with the changes that have occurred.
One of the biggest changes I have noticed about my body is the change in my legs. I am proud to say that I have noticed my legs are looking and feeling more toned. I actually have calf muscles now (that I didn’t have before). My legs are looking stronger. More importantly, however, they are feeling stronger. This is what makes a difference to me. Running helps me feel stronger. With every run I complete, I feel myself becoming stronger–physically and mentally.

I am convinced that running has allowed me to feel stronger and more confident in myself. I don’t just see the results. I feel the results. I feel proud of myself when I am able to run a minute longer than I was the day before. I feel proud when I go a little faster. I feel proud when I push myself a little harder. I even feel proud when I have a crappy run because I know I’m running all the same. I feel proud of myself everytime I step out the door to go on a run.
Feeling proud and strong are two wonderful feelings…
Tell me: How have you changed since you started running? What does running do for YOU?
